All sports fans know that HBO, Showtime and ESPN regularly broadcast the sweet science respectively.  There is a natural progression a fighter makes on the way up the ladder to superstardom.  As a prospect they appear on ESPN’s Friday Night fights then they graduate to  Shobox and then when they become a household name HBO steals them away and puts them on Pay Per View.  Only the true boxing fans or as they are affectionaly known on twitter; Boxingheads watch the weekly mismatches that are televised on Telemundo and TV Azteca.

While I do not speak fluent spanish, despite my affection for latino women, knockouts need no translation.  We pick up the action halfway through the first round as the fighters are feeling each other out.  As it turns out Calderon wouldn’t be feeling much of anything  after the left hook he eats and his body crumbles to the canvas.

As for Gonzalez you have to love the balance and shortness of the few punches we saw him throw, and he turned his hand over on the kill shot just like he was trained to do.  What this KO means for him going forward I have no idea.  He may one day become a P4P fighter, for whatever that means, or he may lose his next 5 fights and become a bouncer at a dive bar in Tijuana.  Either way, thanks to you youtube, he will always have this glorious feeling of making another man lose his equlibrium and forget his middle name.
