Reporter Jim Gray is often a condescending prick in interviews and is not exactly known for his soft touch or feel good interviews, but this Paul Williams interview was just that. Williams last weekend was in Las Vegas last weekend as a guest of Canelo Alvarez for the Knockout Kings fight. Williams was originally going to be in Las Vegas to be an opponent of Canelo, but unfortunately a motorcycle accident left him paralyzed from the waist down.
Paul was long been known as a fearless fighter who overwhelmed his opponents by his incredible endurance and punch rate. While he literally was a fighter in the ring, it was refreshing and empowering to see that he is the same determined fighter out of the ring. Even in the midst of losing his career and his ability to walk had to be incredibly humbling to a world class athlete, he has maintained a remarkably upbeat perspective.
