At Halestormsports.com we like to keep our sports and our politics separate.  Rarely are they relevant to one another in terms of team allegiances or practical discussion although we will poke fun at both sides of the aisle when it is appropriate because politicians are such easy targets and sometimes quite frankly they deserve it.

Seeing as it is an election year and the most powerful office in our country, and maybe the world, is in the balance, our televsions, radios, and in some cases our front yards will be enidated with political conversation.

This past saturday republican vice president nominee Paul Ryan spoke to the Miami of Ohio Redhawks (his alma mater) before their game vs. Ohio State in Urban Meyers Buckeye debut.  I couldn’t really care whether Ryan is pro life or anti spread formation, this bumbling speech of misinformation is not exactly the most ideal way of firing a team up as it takes the field as a huge underdog. In fact after watching this dreadful speech I now see why the Redhawk receivers dropped a half dozen passes in the first half.

Not only did he take long pauses, his speech was filled with inaccuracies.  While some people will tell that is merely a continuation from his speech in Tampa last week at the Republican National Convention, I will just say next time maybe they should send Clint Eastwood and he can talk to goal post in pre game warm ups.
