I have long said the way to resurrect NBA all star weekend’s slam dunk contest is not throwing money at it.  How has that worked for America in the past?  I say, appease to the pride and manhood of the NBA players.  No one wants to be embarrassed, especially million dollar athletes with tremendous egos.  I propose letting non NBA players participate along with current NBA players to see who are the best dunkers, not just in the NBA, but in the world.

Make it a global contest.  Why not?  The contest now is a shell of itself, B list players, fighting a hangover from the night before, resorting to foolish gimmicks.  But dunks like the one below will make NBA players step their game up.  No one wants to be clowned, and if you had to follow this dunk with jumping over a Yugo with a superman cape, you would in fact get clowned.
