Just from look at their shooting form, who in the hell would ever think the guy in the purple out shot the future Hall of Famer in the white.  Fisher is shooting across his head.  It looks like he is trying to block the sun from getting in his eyes, yet there he was AGAIN knocking down big shot after big shot.  I mean that’s almost Cartwright-esque.  The Lakers ran the same play about 5 times in a row, Kobe setting a screen for Fisher at the extended elbow and Fisher curling into a nice soft 15 footer.  Ray Allen was so scared to leave Kobe, and Rondo couldn’t stop himself from reaching. Fisher sealed the deal after an eyes closed lay up while getting tackled.  I think that may have been the first time I ever saw D Fish hit the ground, not under his own flopping power.  Kudos to him.
I knew the Celtics were in trouble early when I saw Sheed shaved.  He simply is not the same player unless he looks homeless.  He is from Philly.  It’s part of his civic duty.  Philly is so grimy it makes Detroit look like Paris.  He gave them a spark in the 2nd half, but he started the game jacking three’s that were bricks leading to Laker fast breaks.
The instant replay was horrible. Late in the game there was a debatable out of bounds call.  On the replay the ball was off of Odom, but that was because Rondo obviously fouled him.  So because you can only replay possession but not a foul call the refs gave the ball to Boston when obviously it was at worst the Lakers ball.  But it was made up for when Pau Gasol acted like a sniper hiding behind Cousy’s retired jersey shot him when KG set a screen.  Amazing to me every single player has been in foul trouble in this series.  Even Michael Cooper picked up a couple early fouls.  But some how Gasol has avoiding even sniffing foul trouble.  Amazing, he was leaning all over KG the entire game.  His beard alone should be a technical.  He looks like Matthew Mcconahey on a meth binge.
Hero
D fish simply gets it done.  I mean the guy chased Ray Allen all night long, flops all over the place, then hits 11 4th quarter points to seal the deal in the biggest game of the season.  Amazing.  He has now officially reached midget Horry Status.  The best thing he does is play hard.  And you cannot be mad at him for that.  He has made the most of his time in the league and really how many guys can say that?  If you were building a team from scratch Fisher would be one of the last guys you pick up, but you would be thankful you did.  Would you rather have his career or T Macs?  Or Vince Carter?  Yeah they made more money and have cool nicknames but D fish will one day be the Lakers GM and will forever be loved in the city of Angels.  That’s saying a lot for a guy that was Nick Van Exel’s back up.
Goat:
In 48 hours Ray Allen went from Jesus (Shuttlesworth) to, God D@#$ Lindsey Hunter.  Ray Allen was the worst shooting Celtic since Greg Kite.  It was like watching one of those bad movies where an actor like Kirk Cameron and some other B actor, like the dude who played Mr. Belding switch bodies with each other.  So the kid is the adult, and the adult is the kid.  That wasn’t the same guy that couldn’t miss in downtown LA two nights ago was it?  Really?  0 for June 6th?  Ray had several opportunities to pull a Reggie Miller, ya know pump fake let the guy hit you and get to the line.  No idea why he didn’t pump fake till the 3rd quarter, the Lakers were sprinting at him like he had the last samples of a live saving antidote.  Ray, everyone knows you can shoot, pump fake or jab step or something!
Paul Pierce was brutal.  He was so passive I thought he ate some of Phil Jackson’s pre-game brownies.  Did he know it was a playoff game last night?  You would have thought it was the 2nd game of a back to back in the middle of January.  He had no emotion, no fire at all.  It was like he got a late night (collect) phone call from his good friend Antoine Walker, asking him to throw the game cuz he bet on the Lakers.  If Paul doesn’t wake up, he won’t be going back to LA after all.
Coaches:
Phil Jackson:
Nice move by Phil to get Odom in earlier.  I am sure Bynum’s Knee after that long flight wasn’t feeling so hot anyway, but it let Lamar get involved from the 1st quarter on.  Why Ron Artest is playing so much is beyond me.  PP is missing make-able shots.  It really doesn’t have much to do with Ron’s defense, he missed the same shots when Luke Walton was guarding him.  I think Luke brings something to the offense, he moves the ball well,  sets good picks and hits the occasional jumper.  I really wonder is Ron will be a Laker next year.
Amazing with how high profile Phil is, that he hasn’t gotten some type of endorsement for his sideline chair. Does he walk out on his own from the locker room or does he and his thrown  get carried out by the Laker girls?  He looks like a dictator of a 3rd world country over there on the sidelines. All he needs is a cigar and a couple stripes on his shoulder.  The people sitting behind him have to DVR the game to see what they missed.  Why don’t they just get him a recliner, and 6 pack of whine coolers.  I don’t see Phil as a beer guy.
Doc Rivers:
Doc finally put Rasheed on Gasol.  No idea why it took him 3 games to do so.  Sheed if focused can lock Gasol up.  He has done it dozens of times in the past.  Big Baby is just too short to challenge his shot, and he matches up better with Odom anyway.  I thought Doc made a huge error in subbing KG out so early after he looked like he borrowed somebody else’s knees.  KG was playing like it was 2003.  He along with Rondo, were the only Celtics that could hit anything.  Doc pulling him out early got the Celtics offense out of rhythm that they never seemed to regain.  The Lakers defense deserves credit for that as well.
Intangibles:
The Lakers are tough.  I am not sure where the soft label comes from.  maybe it is a west coast thing, but it should never be questioned again.  They have won a ton of  road games the last couple years in the playoffs in every way imaginable, whether out scoring Denver in the altitude in a track meet game, or out Celticing the Celtics in Boston.
Robert Parish is rolling over in his grave watching Kendrick Perkins try to make a lay up.  He is like the batting practice pitcher, and Bynum and Gasol are Bonds and Pujols.  He just keeps on serving them up.  The Lakers are a very tall team, but have the Celtics had more than one or two dunks this entire series?  Kg caught an alley-op, but besides that can you even remember any?
Lamar Odom joined the NBA finals.  Amazing to me how a guy like him or Tashaun Prince can survive in the league this long with an off hand.  If Lamar drove a stick he would always be stuck in 1st gear.  Its like his right hand is just there to hold hands with the big Kardashian girl.  He gets as much use out of his off hand as the Asian dude from 2 Live Crew.  I have said it a thousand times, when Odom shows up the Lakers are a totally different team.
Looking ahead:
Three games into the series, and still no dreaded under-bite.  This is just further proof that Kobe has full control over his bottom teeth, otherwise at some point the “I’m really focused and care so much” under-bite would have just revealed itself.  Not sure if that is a good or a bad sign for Boston that they trail and the black Predator is yet to appear.  Stay tuned.
Once again not many adjustments to be made at this point.  Both teams know what the other wants to accomplish, and more importantly how they plan on doing it.  It just comes down to making shots.  The Lakers, between Artest, Farmar, and Shannon Brown, need them to score somewhere in the neighborhood 17 points.  Kobe and Gasol get their averages and one of Odom or Bynum to be on their game and they are up 3-1.
I think Ray will be fine.  He could break either one of his 3-point records he set the last couple days.  They key is getting Paul Pierce aggressive. Attacking from the start, getting to the basket drawing fouls and putting the Lakers in the penalty.
Sidebar:
Mark Jackson rumored to be a lead candidate for the Atlanta Hawks job.  Lord please let the Hawks hire this cat.  A Van Gundy Bill Walton both with stiff ass Mike Breen in the middle could make for great television.  Tell me you don’t miss Bill a little bit:  “Nice play by UCLA legend Earl Watson”  who else can utter those words besides my man Bill. Boston has no celebrities, at all?  Seriously?  I guess all of them like Matt Damon, and Mark Walberg moved to LA.  But no Bobby Brown?
